In a career spanning more than five decades, artist and printmaker Beth Van Hoesen (1926 – 2010) created a uniquely exquisite body of remarkable graphic work that was instantly recognizable by the purity of its line. 1821 Gallery & Studios will be showcasing the work of artists Carolyn DeAnda and Michael T. Murphy during the month of May. DeAndaʼs exhibition titled “Retro Fresno-Remembering and Era” is an alternate media photography process utilizing digital composition and digital fine art pigment transfers to fine art papers, metals and other non-traditional substrates. Fresno Printmaker Guild & 1 Year Anniversary, April 2013

1821 Gallery & Studios celebrates it’s one year anniversary with this April’s ArtHop, and it’s doing it in a big way.  The gallery will be presenting over 40 pieces of fine printmaking by the members of The Printmakers Guild of Fresno.  The Guild was established in 1986 by a group of artists enrolled in Leon Osborne’s printmaking class at Fresno City College.  For over 25 years the Guild has presented it’s annual show in various venues, fulfilling the original intent to educate and exhibit.  The 13 artists showing work in...   1821 Gallery & Studios presents Lost @ Sea, an exhibition of work by Jim Campbell in January. 1821 Gallery & Studios will host the of work by Bill Bruce during the month of December. The exhibition entitled, Are You Going With Me? opens for ArtHop on December 6 from 5-8 pm and runs through December 21. Are You Going With Me? explores an interconnected relationship between art and music. Bruce, who has volunteered thousands of hours as an on air jazz DJ with public radio stations in Fresno, is an avid music collector.
