Elaine Callahan & Peggy Jelmini, July 2013

1821 Gallery will be featuring two outstanding local artists for the month of July. Elaine Callahan, one of 1821 galleryʼs artists in residence, will be showing her most recent work. Callahan studied art at San Jose State college, C.O.S., as well as studying water color with Pat Hunter and Carlene Kostew. She is fascinated by abstract art and so continues to explore this challenging field of art. “I enjoy realism as well, says Callahan, but decided on abstract for this show.”

Joining Elaine Callahan will be artist Peggy Jelmini. Her ability to make the ordinary extraordinary has won her praise form fellow professionals and critics alike. This exhibit of her work will be of abstracts of valley scenes as well as others. Jelmini says, “many of the paintings were inspired by flying over the valley and seeing the topography of fields and hills as an abstract composition”. Both artists are well known in the Fresno arts scene and have shown their work in Fresno art galleries and galleries across the country.

This current exhibition will run from July 3rd thru August 3rd. A reminder that due to the 4th of July holiday, Art Hop has been moved to July 11th. 1821 Gallery will be closed August 4th – 31st for holiday.
